This barbie cake looks fantastic but is so easy to make.

First, you need to make a dome-shaped sponge cake. You can get either buy ready-made cakes from the supermarket, buy a cake-mix or make it yourself. You can either bake the cake to the correct shape (see Amazon below for a selection of cake-tins) or stack regular-shaped cakes and cut them to the desired shape.

Once you have a cake in the shape of barbie's skirt you need to hollow out the centre to allow you to insert a barbie doll (wrap the doll's legs in clingfilm to make this easier).

Now it's time to decorate. Just get creative - use colours and themes that will match the rest of the decorations.

Pass the Purse

This game is similar to pass-the parcel. Before the party, fill a decorated or Barbie purse with a variety of treats such as sweets or stickers.

Position the children into a circle. Pass the purse around from player to player while music is playing. When the music stops the player holding the purse is out - they can open the purse and choose a treat before leaving the circle. The child who remains in until the end wins the purse plus the remaining treats.
