Party Ideas - Spiderman Theme

Party Food

Making a spiderman cake can be really easy.

First, take a circular sponge cake. You can get this ready-made from the supermarket, buy a cake-mix or make it yourself. Cover the cake with yellow icing, not forgetting the sides.

Next take some liquorice laces and use them to make a web over the top of the cake - use some water, jam or icing to help them stick.

Finally, get a Spiderman™ figurine to decorate the top. Et Voila - a fantastic looking cake with next-to-no effort.

These cupcakes are so easy to make. As with the main cake, either buy some ready-made cupcakes or bake your own and cover them in icing - blue this time.

Use some liquorice laces again or use one of those ready-made icing tubes in black to draw a web and place a plastic spider or Spiderman™ cake-topper in the centre of each to make them even more spectacular. Make sure the kids know the spider's not for eating.

Party Games

Pin the spider on the spiderman

This game is basically 'Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey' but with a picture of Spiderman instead.

Put up a large picture of Spiderman, blindfold the children and encourage them to stick a cut-out spider on to the picture. The child that gets closest to the spider emblem on Spiderman's chest is the winner

Spiderman Tag

This is basically tag but with a spiderman twist. Depending on the number of children you can have up to 3 'taggers' representing 'Venom', the 'Green Goblin' and 'Dr Octopus'. There are no winners in this game but it is a good way to let the children burn off some of their excess energy!
